Girls Just Want to Have Fun The Musical!
Based on the Screenplay by Amy Spies; Written by M. Dickson & Lauren Marcus; Music Supervision, Arrangements & Orchestrations by Georgia Stitt; Directed & Choreographed by Jennifer Werner; Developed by Lively McCabe Entertainment & Primary Wave Music

Girls Just Want to Have Fun The Musical! transforms Amy Spies’ original screenplay for the VHS-era favorite starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Helen Hunt into a high-energy, neon-soaked stage musical.

Janey Glenn is a natural-born dancer, but as the timid, straitlaced daughter of a strict colonel, she only lets loose in front of her bedroom mirror. When Janey transfers to yet another new school, she finds her first real friend: bold, fearless Lynne. United by their obsession with Dance TV, the two become inseparable. With Lynne by her side, Janey works up the nerve to defy her father and try out for the show. Before she knows it, Janey has a ride-or-die BFF, a first love straight out of a power ballad and a spot on the dance floor she’s only ever dreamed of. The only catch? It’s live TV, and Dad can never find out.

Pulsing with nonstop laughs, show-stopping choreography and unforgettable hits like “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” “I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” and “Workin’ for a Livin,” plus the film’s iconic “Dancing in Heaven” and “I Can Fly,” Girls Just Want to Have Fun The Musical! is an electric celebration of friendship, courage and dancing your way to who you’re meant to be.

NOTE: This production has preview performances open to the general public on November 11 at 7:30 p.m. and November 12 at 7:30 p.m. before the official opening on November 13 at 7:30 p.m.
