Be the first to witness original choreography by the renowned faculty and alumnus of Point Park University’s Conservatory of Performing Arts — Dance. See original works by Jason McDole, Jesse Factor, visiting professor Marc Spaulding, and alumnus, Mamiko Usuda. Usuda will also create a trio featuring the faculty.
Jesse Factor danced with the Martha Graham Dance Company and Graham II in repertory such as Acts of Light, Appalachian Spring, Diversion of Angels, Clytemnestra, and Maple Leaf Rag. Additional credits include the North American touring company of Cats, and the European company of Cabaret. Factor’s award-winning solo work has been presented at the Boston Contemporary Dance Festival, Harvest Chicago Contemporary Dance Festival, OUTsider Festival, Milton Art Bank, RADfest, Fresh Fruit Festival, and House of Yes. Training: BFA w/Honors: NYU/Tisch School of the Arts, Martha Graham School, MFA: University of Iowa. Factor is an assistant professor of dance at Point Park University.
Jason McDole is an Associate Professor of Dance at Point Park University has danced in the companies of Twyla Tharp, David Parsons, and Lar Lubovitch. He was a founding member and assistant to Robert Battle of BattleWorks Dance Company. McDole has been privileged to work on projects with Zvi Gotheiner, Mark Dendy and Graciela Daniele. On Broadway, he originated the role of the Dog in Twyla Tharp/Bob Dylan's The Times They are a Changin'. He has taught, staged works, and choreographed throughout the U.S. and abroad. McDole received his B.F.A. from The Juilliard School and his M.F.A. in Interdisciplinary Arts from Goddard College.
Marc Spaulding’s selected professional credits include: Dreamgirls 1st National Tour, Equus- Broadway Revival, PHILADANCO (The Philadelphia Dance Company), Westside Story International Tour, Donald Byrd/The Group, Dancing with the Stars, Euphoria, and the feature film Hairspray. Mr. Spaulding is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Modern Dance at Point Park University. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from University of the Arts and completed his Master of Fine Arts Degree at University of California, Irvine.
Mamiko Usuda was born and raised in Ibaraki, Japan, and received her B.F.A. with a Major in Dance, from Point Park University. Under the direction of Iratxe Ansa and Igor Bacovich, Mamiko worked with Metamorphosis Dance, during the summer of 2015 and 2016 in Mexico, Spain and Italy. After graduation, Mamiko trained at Nuova Officina della Danza in Italy; under Emanuel Gat, Sita Ostheimer and Spenser Theberge. In 2021, she performed at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic opening ceremony, choreographed by Kaiji Moriyama; and in 2023, she toured nationally across Japan, again with Mr. Moriyama, to perform the piece, “The Little Prince”. Mamiko continues to share her artistry as part of the Staycee Pearl Dance Project.
